Incentive Conditions

  • This grant support from the European Union Fund to support the protection of Industrial Property Rights of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), promoted by the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), allows SMEs to partially reimburse the costs of Industrial Property (IP) pre-diagnosis – IP Scan/IP Scan Enforcement, trademarks and design, patents and plant varieties.
  • When the application is accepted, vouchers are issued which can then be activated to partially reimburse the fees for the selected modalities.

  • The entire national territory.

  • SMEs can apply for reimbursement of the following amounts:
    • Voucher 1 – Covers the eligible costs of IP Scan and IP Scan Enforcement services, with a reimbursement of up to 810 euros in Portugal (in other EU Member States the reimbursement amount can be up to 1,350 euros).
    • Voucher 2 – Covers eligible costs for trademarks and designs at national, regional, European and international level up to a maximum of 700 euros.
    • Voucher 3 – Covers eligible costs for national patent applications, up to 1,000 euros, and European patent applications, up to 1,000 euros; as well as costs incurred in drafting and filing European patent applications with the EPO, up to a maximum of 1,500 euros. (Temporarily unavailable for new applications)
    • Voucher 4 – Covers the eligible costs of application fees and online examination of plant varieties protected within the Community up to a maximum amount of 1,500 euros. – (Temporarily unavailable for new applications)

  • Partial reimbursement of expenses incurred with Industrial Property (IP) pre-diagnosis – IP Scan/IP Scan Enforcement, trademarks and design, patents and plant varieties, via voucher.
  • Note:
    • Voucher 1 – The voucher is valid for 6 months from receipt of the grant.
    • Vouchers 2/3/4 – The vouchers are valid for 1 month from receipt of the grant and the validity can be extended by a maximum of 1 month.
