Tourism Grants

This incentive aims to support companies in the tourism sector in acquiring equipment, systems or implementing solutions to promote energy transition and carbon neutrality. Actions include reducing greenhouse gas emissions, using renewable energies, managing resources efficiently, decarbonizing mobility, promoting circularity and enhancing biodiversity.

Incentive Conditions

  • This incentive aims to support companies in the tourism sector in investments to acquire equipment, systems or implement solutions that promote energy transition and carbon neutrality.
  • Actions include reducing greenhouse gas emissions, incorporating renewable energies, optimizing primary energy consumption, managing water and waste efficiently, decarbonizing mobility, promoting circularity and valuing biodiversity.

  • The entire national territory.

  • Companies that:
    • Are micro and Small and Medium Enterprises, certified by the IAPMEI Electronic Declaration, as well as Small Mid-Caps and Mid-Caps and Large Enterprises, located in national territory;
    • Are members of the Tourism 360º Companies Program;
    • Have at least one year of positive equity as of 2021 (Companies that are unable to prove this condition in closed financial years will be able to access the line, as long as they present this situation in an interim balance sheet by the date of the application);
    • Demonstrate economic and financial viability from a forward-looking perspective;
    • Have organized accounts and a balanced economic and financial situation;
    • In the case of Small Mid Caps, Mid Caps and Large Companies, they are at least in a situation comparable to the B- classification, in terms of the credit rating of the Credit Institution and Mutual Guarantee Society (SGM).
    • Are located in Portugal and carry out their main activity in one of the eligible PPAs
  • Eligible operations:
    • Water Management
    • Energy Management
    • Sustainable Mobility
    • Waste Management
    • Circular Economy
    • Biodiversity
  • Note: Operations must include investment in the “Water Management” or “Energy Management” category. Applications with investments exclusively in the other categories are not eligible.

  • Up to 80%
  • Maximum funding amount 750 thousand €
  • Conversion into non-reimbursable amount
  • Up to 20% of the amount financed can be converted into a non-reimbursable grant (up to 30% for operations that fall exclusively under the prevention, monitoring and contingency plan for drought situations in the NUT II Algarve).
  • Requirements for conversion:
    • Tax and contributory status regularized at the time of conversion;
    • The support granted must not exceed the maximum limits for state aid;
    • Confirmation by Turismo de Portugal that the requirements associated with the first full financial year after the date of completion of the investment have been met.
