Support under the Start from Knowledge Program aims to stimulate the creation of startups in academia and the transmission of scientific and technological knowledge produced in Higher Education Institutions to the national business fabric.
It is also an eligibility criterion for beneficiaries to be, for the most part and with management control, an individual who, at the time of submitting the application, can prove that they are, or have been in the previous two calendar years, enrolled in a cycle of studies leading to an academic degree at any national higher education institution, or are, or have been in the previous two calendar years, a researcher or lecturer.
Under the Start from Knowledge Program, the following types of activities are eligible:
Participation in ignition, incubation and acceleration programs;
Study, preparation and start-up of business activity;
Participation in events and trade fairs, with the aim of publicizing the business model, service or product;
Preparation of a marketing strategy, including the production of an identity, pitch deck or video pitch;
Development of pilot projects to demonstrate the business model, service or product;
Research and development projects.
When the funding is intended to support activities within the scope of the study, preparation and start-up of business activity, expenses already incurred since the beginning of the calendar year prior to the deadline for submitting the Program application are eligible.
