New PT2030 Call Plan: A unique opportunity for portuguese companies

Portugal 2030 (PT2030) has entered a new strategic phase of funding, reinforcing its commitment to economic development, innovation, and the competitiveness of Portuguese businesses. The latest update of the Annual Call Plan of PT2030 and the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (FAMI) brings solid figures and concrete opportunities that entrepreneurs cannot afford to miss.

More funding, more predictability
Over the next 12 months, 239 calls for proposals will be launched, with a total allocation exceeding €3.61 billion. This represents an increase compared to the previous plan (220 calls and €3.15 billion), highlighting the determination to accelerate fund execution and support businesses across the country.
One of the plan’s main strengths is predictability: by knowing in advance the calls to be launched between September 2025 and August 2026, companies can better plan their investments, align strategies, and prepare stronger applications.

Support across strategic areas
The calls cover crucial areas for transforming Portugal’s economy and society:

  • Compete 2030: with the largest share of funding, €1.55 billion across 16 calls, this program is designed to boost research, innovation, competitiveness, and internationalization of businesses.
  • People 2030: with €801 million in 28 calls, it focuses on skills development, social inclusion, and employability.
  • Sustainable 2030: allocating €654 million in 21 calls, it supports the green transition, energy, and sustainability.
  • Regional and multi-regional programs complement the framework, ensuring balanced support across the country.

Driving faster execution
Although PT2030’s overall execution rate stood at 10% by the end of August, the Government is implementing concrete measures to speed up projects and ensure swift, effective use of funds. A clear example is the possibility for companies to request 40% advance payments by the end of the year, easing cash flow management and reducing financial risks when starting initiatives.

Additionally, the reprogramming of PT2030 is underway, allowing Portugal to benefit from higher advance rates for the strategic priorities defined by the European Commission.

What does this mean for entrepreneurs?
The Call Plan is more than an administrative calendar: it is a genuine window of opportunity. For Portuguese businesses, this means:

  • Access to robust funding for innovation, international expansion, digital, and green transition projects.
  • Greater security and predictability when planning investments.
  • Support for growth and internationalization, boosting competitiveness in an increasingly demanding global market.
  • Direct incentives to kick-start projects, reducing financial barriers.

The new PT2030 Annual Call Plan is a decisive step towards building a more innovative, sustainable, and competitive economy. For Portuguese entrepreneurs, the time is now: plan, invest, and make the most of the available support.

The challenge is set and European funds are the ideal lever to transform great ideas into successful projects.
