Vale Inovação is a PT2030 measure that aims to support projects and actions in the field of blue biotechnology that aim to produce tradable and internationalisable goods and services with significant economic value creation for the target regions. The aim of these actions is to contribute to the value chain and economy of the regions in which they take place in order to foster their development.

Incentive Conditions

  • Operations in all economic activities are eligible, provided that the purpose and objective of the application falls within the scope of blue biotechnology and that they aim to produce tradable and internationalisable goods and services with a relevant creation of economic value for the target regions or that contribute to their value chain and do not concern services of general economic interest.

  • Mainland NUTS II regions (North, Centre, Alentejo and Algarve).

  • The maximum funding rate is 100%
  • The incentive is non-refundable up to a maximum of 25,000 euros per project.

  • SMEs, Small Mid Cap.

  • Simplified R&D project – simplified instrument to support small SME business initiatives for the acquisition of consultancy services in research, technological development and innovation activities in the area of blue biotechnology, in the following areas:
    • a) Knowledge transfer – consultancy and technical assistance services within the scope of the aims and objectives of the notice and certification of research, development and innovation management systems;
    • b) Protection of intellectual and industrial property – consultancy for the acquisition, protection and commercialisation of intellectual and industrial property rights and for licensing agreements;
    • c) Quality and Eco-innovation – Consultancy on the use of standards and testing and certification services.
