Start-up Support for Young Fishermen

SEA 2020

This support aims to promote the digitization of processes on board vessels through the implementation of energy efficiency measures, emissions reduction and electric and/or hybrid propulsion in the Fisheries and Aquaculture Sector. The notice is aimed at companies that want to invest in modernizing processes, reducing their carbon footprint and the circular economy.

Incentive Conditions

  • To facilitate the initial establishment of activities in the fishing sector by young fishermen, contributing to the acquisition of the first fishing vessel.

  • Mainland Portugal.

  • 25% non-refundable up to EUR 75 000 per young fisherman.

  • Persons under 40 years of age.

  • Purchase of fishing vessels.
  • Fishing equipment and gear.

  • People under 40 years of age, holders of a valid maritime identity card, fishermen for at least 5 years or with equivalent training, who have never owned or co-owned a fishing vessel.

Incentive Conditions

To facilitate the initial establishment of activities in the fishing sector by young fishermen, contributing to the acquisition of the first fishing vessel.

25% non-refundable up to EUR 75 000 per young fisherman.
